Forum help needed
When I click on a user name, I get this:.

Forbidden.

This page is protected by proprietary privacy software (to protect users email addresses)..

Your web browser did not pass the correct credentials to our server.

You may receive this message if you are blocking certain HTTP headers.

I am using IE7 and not aware I am blocking anything - whatever HTTP headers are?!.

Thanks.

Spolky..

Most likely you have a firewall running, which prevents your browser from sending out information to the server..

It is there to prevent web spiders from collecting the email addresses of the users on this site..

You can turn off the firewall, or whatever security software you are running, while at this site. Just don't forget to turn it back on when you leave!.

Thanks for the reply but it's not my firewall - I tried that already. I don't have problems with any other site - just this one! I can't even check my OWN profile spolky..

I use Zone Alarm firewall and I need to uncheck the cookie control option "Remove private header information" to see user profiles. If that option is checked I get exactly the message you describe..

It can be done either in the main cookie control options, or specifically for forums.dpreview.com in the site list..

Something in your browser or firewall is blocking that information.BruceMcKhttp://www.pbase.com/brucemck..

Thanks, tried that and didn't help either! I have got round the problem by allowing all cookies and disabling my firewall and adblocker- something I'm not best pleased about. This site is the only one I have ever had a problem with, so what exactly are they up to?! Bit sinister if you ask me!spolky..

You should buy them a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III each..

They are tough rugged camera's with good quality pics. It will probably last them for a while!!!.

P.s. not sure of the price though ..

I think they intended it that way...to get your attention. It's your attitude they don't like... .
