Looked in the mirror recently and felt discouraged because although you seem to be losing weight...you don't feel as though you look THAT different?.

Remember this:.

Weight gain happens ounce by ounce, you hardly notice it as it happening. It's almost imperceptible sometimes. That's why it's so easy to get out of control, if it was dramatic, you would probably have changed your lifestyle a long time ago! Nope, you just keep gaining and gaining until one day you look in the mirror or at a photograph and you look terrible!.

Weight loss happens the same way. You lose it ounce by imperceptible ounce. You stay on plan, and the ounces melt away. Sometimes it's hard to tell. You get discouraged. You think, "I am working so hard and I hardly look any different!".

Stay on plan. Watch the ounces melt off. It may take a long time, but if you stick with it, one day you'll wake up and think..

Well said! I'm down 35 pounds, and can finally see it in my face! I'm seeing jaw bones again! and in my wrists! I know, strange place to see it, but I was noticing at my heaviest that my wrists resembled those of a pudgy baby! Yuck. Now, my wrists are smooth again, no pudgy roll........

I also have a before pic that I look at once in a while when I feel I haven't changed much - well, boy - have I changed!.

Stay with it....... we don't see it on a daily basis, but we see in time. Patience is a virtue!..

Thank you so much for posting this! I was feeling a bit discouraged today because my weight doesn't seem to be coming off as fast as others. Reading that has given me some encouragement...

You better PREACH! My weightloss has slowed down so much lately. But today, I pulled on my size 8 jeans and they are too big!!! WooHoo!..

I lost 25lbs before there was any difference in my jeans. It was discouraging to see the scale going down but not the sizes. Funny how some people drop 10lbs and go down 1-2 sizes...

Great post and so true. We all are shaped different so our inches fall off different. Everyone loses at a different rate depending on so many things. The biggest thing is water weight. Some people never drank water, only sodas or whatever. Those people normally show the biggest losses in the first week.

I only had 30-40 lbs to lose and drank a lot of water prior to MF. My first week loss was 7 lbs, then 1-2 lbs a week after that. Sometimes I didn't lose anything. The body changes constantly. However, my inches fell of pretty quick.

We live in a supermarket society where we want what we want NOW! Well years and years of stuffing ourselves with bad food has taken a toll. While this program works fast, it can't work miracles to make you lose 30-40-50-100 lbs overnight. If it did everyone would be thin and would probably be even unhealthier by yo-yo dieting. All I can say is enjoy each day, learn from the program and change the way you look at yourselves...
