I've had caffeine free diet soda (like chain drinking them at a bar with friends) on 4 separate occasions. Look at my sig, can you tell me what four weeks they were on?.
I really doubt it's the cause, but it's made me raise an eyebrow..
Answer: Week 4, 10, 12, and 17..
I have one when I want one, probably 4-5 a week. I used to use them to stave off hunger when it was early and I was freaking out. Now I like one after my L&G most days at work. I'm losing fine..
Oh, just be sure to check the carbs - some "diet" sodas have 6g carbs, which is OFF PLAN...
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a Registered Dietitian with Nutrition Support.
Diet Coke is not expected to impact your weight loss progress not do other non-caloric beverages.
In addition to the recommended 64 ounces of water we ask you to take in each day (in addition to the amount used in your Medifast meals), you can also have any any zero calorie beverages such as diet soda, unsweetened iced tea/coffee, carbonated/seltzer water, etc..
We do recommend for individuals to limit their caffeine intake to approximately 300 milligrams or less per day (approximately the amount found in three 8-ounce cups of coffee)...
Funny, you don't look like a Jennifer.
I didn't have diet soda the first 8 months on the program. But since then, I have a couple a day...
I have several diet cokes every single day. I'm an admitted coke-head ;-) My weight loss SEEMS slow compared to others but I'm still losing an average of 3 lbs per week! For several weeks in a row I lost 3.8 each week. This week I only lost 2 but it's more likely because of salt on my birthday (salmon and salad at Outback) and choosing cheese too often for my lean..
If I can lose 3.8 lbs in the weeks I have a few diet cokes every day, I would say it's not a factor in inhibiting weight loss. I've lost about 20 lbs in 6 weeks. Hope this helps..
