What do these filters do? Never heard of them..

I use only Neutral Density and Polarizing filters since I went digital. No need for anything else..

A 3-filter kit for $11.45?? I would think you get what you pay for. Buying a 40D for it's IQ and then skimping on lenses , filters, etc. seems to be counter-intuitive..

I was kind of surprised at what professional grade filters actually cost myself, >$100.JonGive me something to shoot..

Looks like typical cheap junk..

What lens do you need a filter for? What do you want to use the filter for?.

If you paid $200+ for these filters, you were taken for a ride. These are cheap filters..

From this post and others you made, I'm guessing you bought from scammers, where they offer the camera body at an unbelievably low price, and only let you buy it if you load up the order with lots of overpriced junk (filters, batteries, memory, etc)..

So where did you buy these filters, battery and 40D?.

At this price, the UV filter will be horrible, good for protection but will cause flare problems and reduced IQ (unlike an expensive high quality UV or haze filter). The flourescent filter is for film cameras where you can't simply adjust white balance. Not sure how good the polarizor might be but I guess a cheap one is better than not having one. I wasn't actually aware you could get them even this cheaply though..

I'm assuming you bought better quality filters of another brand for $200 and are now wondering if you would have been better off with the Crystal Optics ones. No you wouldn't. Forget it. I have purchased many filters over the years, do not mind paying the money for the quality I want and will get a filter from the manufacturer that will provide it at the best price so I am familiar with who makes the one's worth buying and I have never heard of Crystal Optics...

I'm assuming he bought through a scam site and actually paid over $200 for the Crystal Optics filters. For instance, how about $249....

Which explains how they can list the 40D for $850:.

If you refuse to buy the $89 no-name battery (which you can buy elsewhere for $10 or less), $179 no-name 2GB CF card ($15 elsewhere), $299 for the extended warranty ($50), $249 for the filters ($30), etc, then magically the 40D will be out of stock..
