I'm very interested in buying the SD100 Digital ELPH. However, I plan to use it for underwater photography as well. Any comments on it's functionality underwater will be greatly appreciated...

SD100 Movies: In what format are movie clips transfered to my computer? Can I view them as Quicktime Movies with sound on my Mac?..

Originally I had the S230 but now I own the SD100. They work exactly the same! What makes the SD100 a tad bit better is that it has a speaker installed that way you can hear your video clips right there. With the S230, you'd have to wait til you're at your computer or a tv. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to learn (or maybe the SD100 doesn't have the capability) to take pictures extremely up close. For example, i've been trying to take photos of insects or the dew drops on a leaf. With the zoom, you can never get it to be clear. Otherwise, GREAT CAMERA!..

Can you tell me if there is a lot of noise or hiss when a video is taken in a quiet room for example. Is it as noisy as the S230 which I have at the moment...

I love the sd100.. takes great pictures but there is a learning curve involved in taking the right shots. Sometimes leaving it on auto mode does not give you the best pictures...

Hi to everyone. Im about to purchase the SD100 and I'm going to use it here in Asia. I have the following questions though. 1. I saw once a discussion that this camera cannot use MMC bt only SD, however, you just have to upgrade the firmware, is this true? 2. So far, how are your sd100's? is the purple fringing really that bad? 3.

Hows the anti redeye problem with this camera? thnx guys..

Which cameras have the smallest delay time between pushing the button to take the picture and the time it takes the picture? I have a Olympus c700 and I have to wait a couple seconds before the picture is actually taken...

I was browsing info today about the Canon SD100. I found a helpful site: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SD100/SD10DATA.HTM which mentioned the actual shutter lag:.

0.064 sec (Time to capture after half-pressing shutter button.) The lag has hardly been an inconvenience on my SD100; the short capture time has helped me out and the time it takes to focus (1 or 2 seconds) has been much less of an issue comparatively...

My batter is charged..but there is no image...driving me crazy since I need to be at graduation a couple of days and need my camera. Please help.

Hi, I have done a lot of research in the past couple of days, my LCD had purple and white lines running across it, and it seems there is a manufacturers flaw. Check their website for "service information" - they will repaitr your camera regardless of the warranty. I will be calling them on Monday! Hope this helps - I too was distressed - I love my little camera!..

I had this problem too. Canon will repair/replace under warranty. I've just received an Ixus 70 in lieu as they couldn't get the parts to repair it. All the best, Anne...

I have the same problem with my ixus 70. What can I do? Another problem is, manuals are not available. My husband threw it after purchasing abroad. Can anyone help me?..

Download the manual from Canon USA, it's known there as the SD1000..
