One of the conclusions of a dutch professional review of 44 digicams is that the Canon Powershot A60 (2 megapixels) have a sharper image quality (10X15cm) than the A70 (3 megapixels). After reading the reviews of imaging-resource and Steves-digicams (august 2003), I have ordered the A60. (I don't print A4 images)..

Does anyone know how to use the date stamp on the Canon A60 when printing out photos ? Please let me know...Thanks, Charley..

You cannot print out the photos with a date .The date function is for file use on your pc. I believe certain printers will allow you to do this by accessing the file data. I have a question. Has anyone noticed that when shooting a subject over 10 ft away you have to use the 3x zoom to make the image in the screen relative to the distance from the camera that the subject is and not doing this makes the subject much further away than it actually is. Im on my 2nd A60 because of this as I thought it was a fault but they are both the same. Any ideas..

Hi, I am also planning to get an A60 but I have seen some sites about manu people complaining about "E18" in Canon Cameras. Apparently the lens does not retract into the body and the camera stops working. Has this happened to any of you? Are Canon cameras reliable and long lasting?..

Can the A60 do NIR photography using the Hoya filter (I always forget which filter is the NIR one)?..

I have just purchased the A60 and am quite pleased with the pictures I have taken so far. I do want to take nature pictures and want to get a telephoto lense for this. Can anyone recommend what len to get?..

Possibly there has been a software update since the review was written, but I have experienced very little shutter delay in my two-month-old A-60. I almost always pre-focus (pressing shutter release halfway to lock focus and exposure), and my guess is that the shutter delay is on the order of a half-second or less. On another subject, the 2 second self-timer is a great and often overlooked function. When used with a tripod or even hand-held, it really improves the sharpness by reducing the inevitable camera shake induced by most non-professionals when smashing down that shutter release button. Try it!..

To print a digital picture with the date, You can use "Photo-Brush 2.1" a very good program and easy..

Hi, I am on a pretty tight budget and am not sure between the following two cameras: A60 and A300. the A300 offers 3.2mp compared to 2.1mp. Over the next 1.5 years or so which do you think will make a better investment. also is 2mp enough really? nowadays 2mp seems to be too little... thanks. Werner...

I am also quite interested in the above post versus a60 and a300... but would also like to know...what Compact flash cards do you recommend for a60, that cause no problems and are not too expensive (256mb) thx..

Just a quick note, I hope I'm not too late to convert you to Canon. The E-18 and other odd electrical errors and malfunctions seen in Canons are caused by improperly charged batteries. I have seen this in Fuji digicams as well. Heed Dave's advice when he says Maha batteries and chargers are MUST_HAVES. He's right. Many, if not most, other chargers were originally designed for Ni-CAD batteries, not NiMH batteries.

The prices and service are great...

Can anybody please tell me what software is A60 using and where can I download the software. As I bought a 2nd A60 and the owner lost the CD-ROMs. I would like to either obtain another copy of the CD-ROMs if possible else I will need to download it from the Internet. Please let me know where can I get it. Many Thanks in advance...

I just purchased a A60 camera and I'm surprised that a lot of poeple have a very good opinion about it. I encounter problems with focusing, for example:.

In auto mode I have pictures which are clear on the LCD and not clear on the computer.

I take the picture of the same subject (portret) three time: on auto, on portret and again on auto, all with flash on. One of the picture is unclear and it was no warning (led blinking). Also sometimes it is happening the same in macro pictures.

But the worst is that in landscape mode I have to focus manualy to infinit, otherwise the pictures are not clear.

I realy don't understand what is happening. Does someone else encounter this problems? Because this not focusing is not happening all the time I can't really say that the camera is not properly working.

Thank You.
