Can I use 2650 mAh instead of 2500 mAh?
Hello,.

I am using Canon PowerShot A620 with rechargeable battery 2500 mAh. I would like to know whether I can use rechargeable battery with 2650 mAh (Duracell 2650 mAh NiMH Rechargeable Batteries). Besides, I want to know whether I can charge these 2650 mAh battery with my charger "Energizer CH1HR-EU" ?My Photo blog : http://www.sohelrana.com..

If it's the same voltage, yes.If it were 12 V you could even use the 12V battery of your car.The A or mA just tells you how much energy it can hold when fully charged..

The larger it's capacity, the longer it will last , the longer it will take to charge it2650 vs 2500 is not a big diff..

If you could find same voltage battery of 5200mA ( double capacity) would last twice as long to work with,..

You are getting mA, milliamperes which is a measure of current, mixed up with mAh, milliampere hours which is a measure of capacity.Chris R..

One ampere-hour is the amount of electric charge transferred by a current of one ampere for one hour..

One milliampere-hour (mAh) is one-thousandth of an ampere-hour..

Depending on your usage pattern you may want to consider some of the newer hybrid NiMH AA's, such as Sanyo Eneloop. They have lower overall capacity (~2000 mAH) but a much lower self discharge rate when not in use..

In other words you can leave the battery in your camera for months then shoot photo's without having to bother recharging it right before use. There's lots of folks on the Canon forum that will testify to hybrid AA's in the A6xx series cameras...

I know, you're right. Was a bit too hasty when replying ..

I want to try those. There's only one thing more irritating than picking up fresh batteries that have discharged already, and thats when someone else mistakes your rechargables as regular ones and tosses them..
