I think that part of this program is learning to eat to live rather than live to eat. You need to get in all of your meals for your health. Simple as that. So if you can somehow work on the spacing of your meals so that you are eating your first meal earlier and your last meal later, that would probably help you.
That being said, stay away from the egg beaters if you are already feeling full. The egg beater serving is enormous and unless you are very hungry or are going to split it into two meals, you are better off doing something else for your lean..
Just worry about getting through today, and then tomorrow worry about getting through tomorrow. Don't overwhelm yourself now by thinking about the long term. You can do this today!.
Thanks so much, Jennifer. Yes, I doubt I'll be eating Egg Beaters anytime soon! LOL That was CRAZY. Being the good ol' southern girl I am I wish there were LG "casseroles" that I could just divide and eat at two meals..
Such a great question about eating when you're not hungry. I truly believe your body will adjust to the smaller meals throughout the day. My first week, I would vacillate between either ravenous or stuffed. Now, after 2 1/2 weeks, my body knows when it's time to eat. I have my L&G for my afternoon meal. It gives me time to digest a larger amount of food, and I look forward to a sweet snack or two later in the evening.
So much of a healthy eating regimen is using food for fuel. I just think of filling up my car at the stationputting in too much or not enough isn't any good.
Congratulations on four days OP. It's so worth it!.
Holy Moly, 16 oz at once?! That's a whole pound!! (duh) I think I'd maybe try 1/2 in the morning for breakfast, and 1/2 in the evening. Or how about an omlette with 1/2 the egg-beaters, and put some lean meat for the other 1/2 with veggies for the "stuffing"?.
I started today and the way I'm working my meals is this....I get to work at 7:00 am and usually go to bed at 10:00 pm. That's 15 hours. I split that time by how many meals to eat (6), so I figure approx every 3 hours. Soooooo, one at 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm (my L&G), 4:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm. So far the only time I've been "starving" is between 3:00-4:00....but I definitely haven't been stuffed!.
You can make a quiche out of the egg beaters and divide it up. It would be good to take to school for lunch. I'll try to find the recipe that I use and post it. It makes a pie plate full, so you could just cut it in 8ths and have a couple slices and then the rest of your lean and green for dinner. When I start back to school (I'm a teacher), I am going to take a small green salad and some of my lean to have at lunch with my Medifast meal. I find the whole portion of lean at dinner just a little daunting..
Thank you for all of the ideas! I would love the quiche recipe....
2 c. EggBeaters.
3 servings veggies: like zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. (cook beforehand if you like).
Onion powder, Tabasco, salt and pepper, etc..
Spray a pie plate with Pam. Bake at 350 until it doesn't wiggle in the middle anymore..
Slice in 8 slices. Whole thing counts as 1 lean and green so make sure , if you don't eat the whole thing, that you get the rest of your l and g during the day..
This is a recipe that I got off the recipe forum so thanks to the person who posted it. There are more quiche recipes there so just search the recipe forum and you'll find them. Happy EggB-eating..
I would suggest definitely splitting your L&G if you can't finish it or eat something with less volume per serving. Like a cup of salad, 1/2c cucumber, 1/2 tomato and egg whites or chicken or cottage cheese..
I recall feeling the same way your feeling. But, it does get better. I have only had egg beaters ONCE in my 17 wks OP. It was 2 wks ago, and your right, it MASSIVE! I couldnt finish it and ended up chucking it..
However, note to yourself that if you come across a "hungry day" and I bet you will, thats a GREAT food for those days. As you now know, it's MEGA filling!.
