How It Works:
1. Say you need advice on what to buy. You would ask us a question.
2. We'll send your question to a bunch of experts through Twitter, Facebook, SMS, and email.
3. When we get a response, we'll email you or message you on Twitter.
Why should I use Snubbr?
Using search engines for product recommendations can be time consuming. You have to sort through hundreds of search results and read tons of reviews. Snubbr makes the process faster and easier. You ask your question, and we'll find the experts to answer it.
Why not just use Yahoo Answers ?
The problem with Yahoo Answers is that we don't know who to trust. If you use Yahoo Answers, you know most responses are often silly or irrelevant. With Snubbr, your question is not flooded to millions of random people. We only ask experts who have authority, and a strong online presence.
How do you know who is an expert ?
Our algorithm ranks experts by several things such as the popularity of their blog, the number of Twitter followers, and how active they are in certain communities. We also do natural language processing on user profiles and comments in social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Digg to find an appropriate expert for your question. Our algorithm isn't perfect, but someone with a gadget blog with over 5000 readers is probably more suited to give electronics advice than someone with no blog, and 5 Twitter followers.
Is everything automated?
For the most part. If a question isn't getting any relevant answers for a couple of days, we usually manually contact some experts to answer it for you. In addition, when a question has been answered, after a few days, we often "clean up" the answers so it is more clear to people who find them in the future. We provide a link to the product recommended, as well as price comparison from retailers.
