A40, S330, Fuji 2650 or What??
A little help?! I am new to digicams and have narrowed my shopping to: Canon A40, Canon S330 or Fuji 2650. Any advice???? Thanks for any help! What I want: Quality: Good sharp pictures, including night/low light that I will not say afterwards..."wish I had taken this shot with my 35mm", Purpose: traveling, candidsindoors/outdoors/day/night, friends and sports...basically everything. Ease: Don't want to miss a shot because I was fooling around with the controls! Features: 3x optical + movies with sound + good price..

@M Book From what I observe from your wanted list I would really advise you to consider the canon's. I myself have an A40 and it takes good pictures under all light conditions. I had a Fuji 2600Z bfore(predecessor of the 2650) and although it's pics were better in good lighting condtions, but as it's flash is not that strong, it's pic quality under low light was awful. hope that helps if you havent bought one yet...

Mark, How was the A40's battery life? My sister-in-law has a Canon S20? and the battery life on that thing is awful......

Here is my question, how does the Canon S200 compare against the A40? I like the S200's very small size, but if the A40 takes better pictures, I would probably get that one...

Well for one thing the S200 only has a 2X optical while the A40 has 3X. Have you tried ?

I got an A40 for xmas, my first digital camera, and so far the camera meets my original specs for an entry level 'snapshot' digicam at a reasonable price ($249) that takes good pix and is reasonably idiot proof. Only problem/complaint so far: nicer if it used 2 AA batts instead of 4 which increases the weight and the nimh battery replacement costs. In the 'nice to have' dept., Canon should have included the AC adapter as it chews up battery power when connected to the computer for downloading. I just ordered a card reader to see if that helps (rather than an ac adapter) the download operation. Does anyone know: do you have to remove the nimh batteries from the camera when using the AC adapter? Does it really matter what AC adapter you use does it have to be Canon's?..

I have an A40 and no, you don't have to use a Canon A/C adapter. You can get an aftermarket at Best Buy. I have had very good experiences with my camera (my second digital) with the exception of low light conditions without a flash. It just won't work!..
